I am happy to agree fixed accountant fees for most work, meaning you have certainty about costs. I can help your cash flow by offering fixed fees paid by monthly direct debit if needed.
My starting prices are stated below but tend to quote for each job individually.
If minimising accountant fees is critical to your business, I am always happy to discuss ways of achieving this. I know the costs are significant if you just have a tax return to do or run a small business.
I believe in billing for the amount of work I do, not based on your turnover or any other measure of your business. It means that if you have relatively few transactions making up a large turnover, you won’t get billed a lot just for the sake of high turnover.
Likewise, if you keep your own good accounting records, I will not necessarily need to charge a lot.
Please feel free to take advantage of my free consultation offer to discuss your
needs.
Starting fees for separate services
I have quoted some starting fee levels below but cannot guarantee that theses will apply to any particular person or business. I would need to meet and discuss my accountant fees with you. This would make sure that all individual circumstances are taken into account.
Fees start from £350 + VAT (a total of £420), although this can be lower if I do your business accounts and your only income is from that business.
When a second tax return is needed by a married couple, I can offer a discounted fee. This is only applicable if most of your income is joint income
and you are happy to have a joint engagement letter and for me to communicate with just one of you.
Fees will be higher if you have complicated investment portfolios, extensive property portfolios, capital gains or need business accounts preparing.
Bookkeeping can vary a lot so I price each job individually. I can provide discounts on fees for the use of QuickBooks and can provide you with access to invoice scanning software, at reasonable prices as I can buy in bulk for all my clients.
I can complete very small, simple, unincorporated business accounts for a small fee. Adding £50 to £200 + VAT to the cost of your tax return fee would be required for this. The fee would be allowable for tax.
Otherwise fees start at £650 + VAT for very simple company accounts and tax where the record keeping is good.
Businesses vary so much in what they do and what records are kept that it is important to have a chat about likely costs.
Some accountant firms offer fixed price categories. This can mean that you either overpaying if your business affairs are simple or you underpay and get a poor quality rushed job which I would hate to do for you.
I charge £75 + VAT per quarter if you simply need someone to review your VAT return each quarter and list any corrections. This usually applies if you use cloud-based software and don’t need partial exemption calculations.
My fees increase from that point but are discounted if VAT forms part of a
package of services including bookkeeping.
I charge £73 + VAT if the requirement is simply that an annual confirmation
statement needs completing. This is usually suitable for most companies.
If you need anything more complicated please get in touch for a quote.
